The Porcelain Veneers Procedure
Porcelain veneers are thin strips of porcelain that are custom made to fit over the front of the teeth. This popular cosmetic dentistry procedure is an excellent treatment option for patients that have misaligned, discolored, chipped, gapped, cracked, and misshapen teeth. Monroeville cosmetic dentist Edward Narcisi offers the porcelain veneers treatment to our Pennsylvania patients that are interested in improving the appearance of their smiles.
Porcelain Veneer Candidates
Before patients can undergo the porcelain veneers treatment, Dr. Narcisi will need to examine the condition of their teeth and gums to ensure that they are suitable candidates for the procedure. Patients with poor dental health are not good candidates for cosmetic dentistry treatments; those that have cavities, gum disease, and other dental problems will need to undergo treatment for these issues before porcelain veneer treatment appointments can be scheduled.
The First Treatment Appointment
If you are considered a good candidate for treatment, we will schedule your first veneers appointment. During this appointment, Dr. Narcisi will remove a thin layer of enamel from your teeth to prep the surface for the veneers. Next, impressions of your teeth are taken so the porcelain veneers can be fabricated to fit perfectly over the your natural teeth and create a more beautiful smile. The appearance of surrounding teeth is taken into consideration when the veneers are made to ensure that they offer a natural and balanced appearance. Before you leave our office, Dr. Narcisi will place temporary veneers on your teeth to protect them while your permanent veneers are made.
The Second Treatment Appointment
One to two weeks after the first veneers appointment, you will return to our Monroeville practice so your permanent veneers can be applied to your teeth. Once placed and secured in position, Dr. Narcisi will polish your veneers and check your bite to ensure that your veneers function and look their best.
Porcelain veneers are made of strong and durable materials and can last for many years. If you are interested in getting porcelain veneers, contact our practice today to schedule a consultation with Dr. Narcisi.
